More MPLS

1). Hum's Liquor store is a few blocks down Lyndale Avenue from where I lived for a few years before moving across the river to "Nordeast". They deliver which is a godsend given the weird hours of availability for alcohol in Minnesota. The Replacements were photographed in front of that same wall, too. Cool.
2). Hennepin bridge with the biggest beer sign in town.
3). Take that bridge from downtown across the Mississippi to Nye's Polanaise Room. Voted best bar in America by Esquire- the place is incredible. It's two bars actually, the smaller one is at the corner entrance and on weekend night's you can watch these guys:

Here's to the Middle West!

linking in the comments is just a matter of some simple html magic.
this is a good cheat sheet

Taking unauthorized (and drunk) tours of the Pillsbury factory was always a hit with house-guests from the west.

This shit makes me homesick for The Cities, and I've never been further than the airport.

Keep it coming, mang.

Hey! I know that place. Reminds me of the movie "The Sting", but more Polish.

MM-
Do you remember the Polish Palace in Nordeast? The sign out front (which was huge) had a broken P so it read FALACE for a long time. It's a fancy lil joint now but they still have good cocktails. Knock a few back and roll up to Tony Jarro's Greenie Bar for a nasty green koolaid concoction-awesome. Gnarly.
